Controls
The following drawing shows an overview of the OSCAR controls. They are pretty similar to a
conventional CD-player. All operations are performed via 5 switch buttons and a rotary
encoder with integrated push-down button.

The human interface was designed in an intuitive way, if you read the following basic
functions of the buttons, you should be able to control OSCAR without further need of the
manual:
HOTKEY: The function of the button is software controlled and may change in context. The
actual function is displayed in the lower right corner of the display.
MENU: By pressing MENU,enters the menu mode, which controls all settings and functions of
the player.
UP: Data on CD and directory may be arranged in a hierarchical subdirectory structure. The
UP-button moves you to the next upper subdirectory. On the uppermost level, you can select
via CD-ROM and Hard disk (if available) with the rotary encoder. The corresponding DOWN
function (enter subdirectory) is available by pressing the SELECT button. Changing
directories on a selected level is achieved by rotating SELECT.
EJECT: Opens and closes CD-tray
STOP: Stops actual playing.
SELECT:
Rotate: Select song, directory or menu function
Push: "Play" for songs, "Enter" für Menu or subdirectories
